Resolving the Middle East crisis: The ideas of Abdullah Ocalan

The Freedom for Ocalan campaign is running a one day conference in the House of Lords on the 15th February 2019. This is a landmark date as it marks 20 years of the incarceration of Abdullah Ocalan.

The conference is aimed at those with an interest in - and wish to learn more about - the Kurdish cause and the middle east crisis, the case of Ocalan and the alternative society built in Northern Syria which promotes tolerance, equality, ecology and grass roots democracy.

The conference will cover;

The alternative solution to the political, social and economic problems in the middle east: Democratic confederalism - The Middle East Nation-state crisis through the Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria example

The Turkish state’s policies against Kurds in Turkey and Syria: The war against Abdullah Ocalan’s Democratic Middle East project

Intervention into the roots of power, oppression, violence of regimes: Jineoloji as the perspective of Kurdish women’s movement

The Imrali torture system against Abdullah Ocalan:

    1. The international coalition against Abdullah Ocalan
    2. The political and legal realities of the Imrali system
    3. Freedom For Ocalan campaign
